You Get Access..you get Access..Everyone gets Star Wars Battlefront Beta Access

Announced on Thursday EA has decided to just give everyone Beta access to Star Wars Battlefront on the PC, Xbox One and PS4. Anyone else ready to tear up about this news?

From EA:

Now that we have officially announced the beta, most of you are just itching to know how you can get in. Well, we’re excited to say that the beta is open to everyone,” community manager Mathew Everett wrote. “Get ready for the beta release date and also make sure your system is ready to download the beta the moment it goes live. Keep your eyes peeled for myself and many other developers during the live beta as we have some cool stuff planned.

Its a beautiful thing when developers just make that decision to just give to gamers instead of making people sweat on whole will gain access or not. This news definitely pleases me and I am sure it will please everyone else. So to my friend Blazed_Maniac you have nothing to worry about, you have access now!

This going to be us in October!

Also quick sidenote that pre-orders are still going in for the special Edition Star Wars Battlefront PlayStation 4 bundle. This lovely system will sport a nice Darth Vader custom case and here are the features.

I am a Beast trying to get his game on. Living by the ways of the Konami Code for many years until I decided to share my knowledge and opinions of the gaming world for you mortals. I hope you enjoy the content that we provide here! - Beast Out -

So, the beta’s started (at least for myself), but I felt like sharing my opinions after a solid day’s grind on it:

I hope what we’re seeing from the beta of Star Wars Battlefront is
not what we are getting as a final product. I’m not talking about maps,
and equipment options; such things are trivial enough to be considered
viable in the release. What I’m talking about is how they’ve
restructured the entire core of the game. Here’s what I mean:

    1) Power-ups are randomly spread throughout the field. Now, does this
sound unheard of? No, not at all. And I have no problem with power-ups
being in a game like this. What I have a problem with is now the
iconic vehicles of old where you could devote your play-style to
piloting in the midst of a match have become limited power-ups located
on the field. No more choosing to spawn far away from the lines because
that’s where your forward base is with all your supporting armor and
aerial power. Now you spawn randomly based on the progression of play,
attempt to hunt down a little power-up (because the damn thing has a
random spawn location) for the armor unit you want to rock, and half the
freakin’ time the crap is spawning in the middle of the enemy’s battle
line. So, no more can a player be a devoted pilot. Instead, they have
to run and gun like everyone else with their dick in their hand if they
really want to fly that TIE fighter or AT-ST. Oh, and let’s not forget
about the AT-AT! You don’t even get to pilot that thing like in
previous games. Now you’re stuck on a time limit to be gunning out of
    that thing.

Note: In case you were wondering why I didn’t harp on
the fact becoming your faction’s hero like I did with vehicles, it’s
because I actually like that aspect to balance them. Especially since
they no longer last forever and get weaker over time. Too often in
Battlefront 2 you would have an unstoppable Yoda or some crap just spawn
camp all day for the entire game and no one could kill him. In
addition, turning into a hero in BF2 was reserved to the person who had
the highest KDR at the time of the spawn so this allows anyone to obtain
the chance to play as it.

    2) No more classes. Now, normally, I would be ecstatic that I could customize my Stormtrooper’s arsenal, but the reality of it all is that having the classes in Battlefront was a nice way to balance the play style of a team. Too much of one class
left a huge gap in the composition of an army, giving it a weakness that
players would have to adjust to on the fly if they wanted to win a
match. Too many storm troopers? Snipers and Jump infantry were able to
take them out and out maneuver them. Too many pilots for the amount of
vehicles? Well, Pilots only had a rocket launcher and a pistol to fall
back on, so guess who’s going to get overrun after two shots? While
simple, it wasn’t bad for the game, but now we have a customize option.
Now, this might be a bit hasty since it’s only beta, but there are
already apparent problems. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, starts with a
sniper rifle as their secondary weapon. Your primary is a choice
between a carbine, repeater, the iconic blaster rifle, and a blaster
pistol. You want a rocket launcher? Better hope you find that
power-up. And since vehicles are power-ups now, no need for anything
the pilots used to have like the ability to repair the hull-points of a
vehicle. Basically, as far as an arsenal goes, we’re looking to be very
limited than compared to the old 4-class system we had in Battlefront 2

    3) Becoming just like any other generic shooter. What I mean by this
is you remember in Battlefront and Battlefront 2 back in the day when
your health DIDN’T recharge when you were out of combat? Remember
hunting for those health pack drops that gave you a minor amount of
health after a brutal fight and you would try to find the closest
medical droid? Yeah, that’s over with. No longer do you have to be
paranoid about someone thermal detonating the ever-living bloody piss
out of your healing and ammo resupply zone (That’s right, no more ammo,
everything is on a cooldown), no more needing a pilot class even on a
vehicle free map to fix the droids that were blown up. Nope, now it’s
just, “Oh, I’ve been shot, better go Call of Duty this shit, run behind
cover, and watch my health go back up!” But you want to know the
kicker? Everyone has a personal shield cooldown as well, so even while
you’re mid-combat, you can pop this thing and prevent ALL DAMAGE TO YOU
while in the cross-hairs of the person you were just shooting it up
with, run to an area that would give you a better vantage point, and by
the time your shield wheres off and you can shoot again, that’s right,
you’re back to full health. Isn’t it nice that something that was
simple before has become even more cheesy and simpler to the point of
    boredom?

TL;DR: Star Wars: Battlefront now is looking to be a
shell of its former self. Just because it’s beta you can’t use the
excuse, “It may be in release.” I’m sorry, but an open beta doesn’t
test to see if people like the mechanics of their game, it tests the
bugs of a game by having a realistic amount of players join in and
experience it. When you reach this point, it means you’re pushing for
release. To change all of the issues that have taken away the key parts
of Battlefront’s predecessors, which in my opinion are what made the
game great, would mean you would have to go back to practically the
Alpha stage of development. The things that made Battlefront iconic are
gone, and what we are looking to buy is a Star Wars themed watered-down
    generic shooter with pretty graphics.
