Senran Kagura Estival Versus Review
I am expecting to get judged harshly for playing this sort of game, but hell I have played Leisure Suit Larry series, DOA Beach Volleyball Series, and the famed Onechanbara Bikini Zombie Slayers. In all honesty, this game is NOTHING compared to those titles in the series. It has to be the diet coke of T & A, well Dead or Alive Beach Volleyball is not as bad being that is just showing off the ladies. In that being said, as we go into this journey I will talk to you about all that is to offer and of course our final sensual conclusion, but first, let’s take a look at some of the combat.
There is a Story I swear:
In short Ryōbi and Ryōna are two shinobi sisters mourning the loss of their dear sister, until a weird mystical phenomenon appears, drawing the shinobi world’s finest young ladies into a parallel dimension. The world as they know it is now turned upside down as their sister is resurrected but only to have to battle her. This happens to all the shinobis in the living world that are now transported to this summer island dimension where they now face in combat loved ones once passed on. That is some trippy stuff to take in.
Senran Kagura Estival Versus is visually beautiful. I do enjoy the art direction of this game and the opening of the animation sequence which I wish had happened more instead of the 3D cut-scenes made me want more. The story is definitely dark surrounded by a lot of innuendoes and dirty incest talk between some characters.
The combat is quite fun especially when you chain attacks together to take out a slew of enemies in one more. It gets even better with the added transformations and team battles that bring a whole new style to the game. The diverse characters give you a sense of change as each have different abilities and those tantalizing animation transformations are fan service if you are into that sort of thing.
There are a few side menus for the more “adventurous gamer” where you can dress up the characters or put on a fashion show that you can upload and it will be voted. I really can’t show those pictures, because apparently there is a thing to unlock to have some nude situations. Hard to believe, but I was all about the combat and Dynasty Warrior style gameplay which is a win for me.
You will be judged, but whatever we are gamers and we get judged no matter what. Senran Kagura Estival Versus can make one feel uncomfortable at times, but once you get passed all those emotions, you realize it is just a repetitive game with a minor story that does not keep you glued to it. As I stated they would have been better off making the cut-scenes animated like the intro storyline instead of making it a voice over stand still 3D animation. I was so bored going through all of the scenes that after a while I started skipping just to get to the combat. That is about it.
Senran Kagura is a fun game with massive ecchi situations and if you are into a lot of clothes ripping during combat and some funny scenarios with hidden lesbian agendas then this is a game you can add to that personal collection. Is $49.99 worth the price, not really and it did laugh at all the DLC that you have an option to buy, which the prices are ridiculous. This should be a game just full of unlocks instead of all that micro-transaction. I am not knocking it too bad, I am enjoying it and you can’t dismiss the intentions of this game, especially if you played the series. In that go forth and enjoy the anime style pudding boob jiggle physics.
Final Score for Senran Kagura Estival Versus: 3.5 Paws out of 5
