Are Remastered Video Games Just an Excuse for no Ideas?
It is a bold statement to bring this up I know, but I got inspired by a few of my friends especially Celestial Heart who made a post about this on her FB feed. Our writer brought this up as well a month ago with her concerns with the Skyrim Remastered when Kikee simply asked, “Why?” However, this is a new thing to bring up as I have checked out some pretty impressive indie games Like Eliosi, Epitaph, Tricky Tower, Valdis Story and many others that bring a new style to games. But, it seems the industry keeps bringing out remastered with some slight differences. Granted the new updated HD Final Fantasy title that will be episodic and of course, a new gameplay mechanic which can be argued for a rebuy, but let’s check out my video.
I am really thinking about you the gamers that have complained and or said whatever to this concept that seems to be winning. I really think the industry wouldn’t take that much of a loss if they gave it away for free and this would be the perfect time to utilize this for the PlayStation Plus or Gaming Gold. Origin has been doing it at times instead of making us rebuy some games and thanks to them I got Dead Space 3 for free.
In solutions to this situation, I feel director cuts or some form of a sequel would be better to pay for. It is okay if you don’t re-release something some of us have enough games to hold us over until the new one comes out. It is still possible to obtain these games on our own through special stores and online purchases and some of these systems are being revived to enjoy these games again. It is becoming too much at times and I personally want the imagination of new games to return and if not, build up the ones we have now which is possible. Stay frosty gamers!
