ARMS is a Fighting Game, get Over It
What is a fighting game?
A fighting game is a genre of video game in which a gamer battles against another character controlled by another gamer or the game’s artificial intelligence (AI). Fighting games often feature special moves that are triggered by rapid sequences of button presses or associated mouse or joystick movements.
Everyone understand? No? Okay, continue.
What is going on gamers? Welcome to this post about fighting games. This week the line-up of EVO 2017 has been released and lately, I have been asked this particular question. “How could they add ARMS to the list for EVO?” That was one of the nicer questions, but frankly speaking why not? I went to the Nintendo Switch event a week ago and was pleasantly pleased with this unique fighter known as ARMS. It is a Spring Combat cartoon style fighter with some interesting innovations using the Joy-Con sensor remotes to throw punches and utilize super moves. ARMS features some amazing designs and strategic combat that any veteran fighter would enjoy.
So what’s the Beef?
I have no F**king idea to be honest since this came about before when they introduced Smash Bros. to EVO and look at it now. A fighting game doesn’t always have to be the normals like Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Dead or Alive or any of that nature that looks like your conventional fighting game. If ARMS does become popular which it may then it might be added to the roster because of the fan base alone. I think it would be quite entertaining to see since it will deal with some endurance and see players throwing punches at the screen. It would be cool if they can set to a dual screen in which the opponents face each other instead of fighting on one screen.
Thanks to the cool people at Destructoid for sharing the roster list.

Ease Your Mind:
You see that last part of the list? ARMS may not get voted into the roster and the list of votes it will go up against is pretty tough.
What’s up for a vote? Arms, Windjammers, Nidhogg, Super Street Fighter II Turbo, Killer Instinct, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Pokken Tournament, Skullgirls, or Mortal Kombat X. – Destructiod
What does that mean? You may be worry over something for nothing. I can see why my friend xRED_SOULx is upset about Killer Instincts not being on the prime roster because let’s be honest it is one of the best entertaining fighting games to watch. To be honest, after playing Pokken Tournament at my cousin’s house, I actually want to see this game at EVO.
In that being said, rest your joypad and calm down your rage meter. If it doesn’t show up this year, it may be there next and you will just have to deal with it. Please feel free to share your thoughts on the subject or how do you feel about the roster. I am looking forward to this years EVO 2017 and hopefully will be joining the fun with my writers. I hope to see you there and see some amazing battles. -Beast Out-
