The Road Ahead for Destiny 2
On Friday, Bungie revealed a bit more to gamers about the upcoming live event for Destiny 1 called, “Age of Triumph“. This new event will be the great closing to an interesting adventure as we soon begin a new with the sequel. Now many of us have had a question, especially me concerning about my character that I spent months on across two platforms. I have a 400 titan on PS4 and a 393 Titan on Xbox One. Yes, I am a titan user and proud of it and thanks to Bungie’s post they answer a few of our questions.
Sequels represent the start of a new adventure for every player, with new worlds to explore, new stories to tell, new powers to acquire, new loot to earn, and much more. This led us to a decision that would enable us to serve both the game and the player’s best interests: Destiny 1 power, possessions, and Eververse-related items and currency will not carry forward. They will, however, remain accessible to you in Destiny 1.
We know that, just like us, you have grown fond of the Guardians you’ve created, so we do plan to preserve your character personalization. We are going to recognize the dedication and passion you’ve shown for this world. Specifically, the class, race, gender, face, hair, and marking selections for all characters that have achieved Level 20 and completed the Black Garden story mission will carry forward. We also plan to award those veteran accounts with honors that reflect your Destiny 1 accomplishments.
That is not too bad honestly and I can get behind that. It is asking too much to carry everything that your character has accomplished into the sequel. Destiny is not an MMO with constant expansions through the years, but at least Bungie will give us things to represent our dedication to their game.
If I were to suggest one thing is to at least let us keep one weapon from each class to carry with us over to the sequel. Yes, Kuma wants to take his sword with him, because dammit it is my pride and joy and I do not know what to expect. Unless you are going to give us more melee weapon options in the sequel? That would be pretty cool and also let us utilize our ships for combat would be great too. There is nothing like a carpet bomb from above to help us out when we are fighting saves of enemies at a time outside.
Age of Triumph will be released by the end of March, so get your classes ready for the final battle. It is going to be an interesting journey ahead of us guardians. – Beast Out –
