Steven Universe: Save the Light Console Announcement
Steven Universe has been the cartoon to touch base on many subjects that have touched many watchers. I came to the series late around season two, but oh man was I hooked after that. San Diego Comic Con is happening right now and during this time we get a glimpse of many trailers and at times video game announcements. Steven Universe: Save the Light will be the first game for the cartoon series that will play like an RPG. I believe that is the best genre to put it as, especially with many RPG style characters and adventures that I hope they adapt well for the genre.
PlayStation had a bit to say about the game to give us an idea.
Save the Light begins when a mysterious warrior arrives in Beach City and steals a powerful weapon, and then it’s up to the Crystal Gems to embark on the magical mission to end all magical missions. Steven and the Gems must travel far beyond Beach City, battle an army of creepy creatures, and stop a no-good Prism-snatcher in order to Save the Light!
Definitely, has a Paper Mario feel to it which seems to be the ideal saying around many outlets. I will admit I am not too big on turn based RPG’s, but if it is done right you can count me in to play. So far the visuals look nice taking on a different art style which we are used to in the series. I would have hoped this would end up on the handhelds as well to give PSVita some life if you know what I mean. But for now, expect this to be released on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. I also expect some Nintendo Switch information coming soon and that is definitely a console that deserves a game of this caliber.
Check out the trailer below and be sure to see more information as it develops before the game drops later this year. – Beast Out –
