Girls und Panzer: Dream Tank Match TGS Reveal

Okay, so how many of you have seen Dominion Tank Police? Or Tank Girl? No, well that sucks, but not all is lost. Welcome to another Tokyo Game Show reveal of Girls und Panzer: Dream Tank Match and it seems it has the best of both worlds. Bandai Namco wants to give you a pretty straightforward game of girls in tanks having a match against one another. Pretty simple and yet as a super cute feel towards a world filled with tanks and destruction. I like It!

(laughs) Who wants to hear the plot of the game? Apparently, the main character Miho Nishizumi and her crew are trying to save their school by battling other rivals with old-school World War II tanks. I swear to all things video games that is one of the best things I have ever heard from a Japanese anime style story. I mean we had games based on thugs fighting each other, girls with flimsy clothing fighting other schools since they are reincarnated as old samurais. Now we have girls in tanks fighting for the honor of their school…hell why not?

There is talk going around that this game is a mix of World of Tanks meets Japanese School Girls. Why the comparison? Well, players have the option of choosing more than 30 classic tanks (Tiger, Sherman, T-34 etc.) to represent their school is an interesting story campaign. Since the broadcast is in Japanese they are stating that the game will consist of a 5 versus 5 match through online team battles. There are also options for different tank cosmetics and each will have their own special combat skills which will vary depending on strategies.

I am cracking up how interesting this game is looking and how ready I am to play something of this nature which might be a bit of a problem since it will be online based. Luckily enough no region lock on the consoles, so going to have to start studying to get to play or hope someone does a translation manual. If it does get popular than it might actually reach the states, who knows, but I would not be surprised.

There is no other information other than Bandai Namco stating that the game should release sometime Winter of 2017. Stay tuned for further updates and if you are interested the game is available for pre-order right now on Play-Asia.com.
