Monster Hunter World Beta and DLC Information

Today was the day for the Sony Games week in Paris showcasing some games that most of us already knew about and of course some titles that were still hidden. Right now we are going to discuss some things that are coming from Capcom with on being the Monster Hunter World Beta that comes with something extra.

Available starting 9th December, players from around the world can experience three fearsome quests as they join up with other hunters online or take on the beasts alone in the exclusive beta for PlayStation Plus users. Running for three days, hunters participating in the beta can tackle the hungry Great Jagras, a scavenger capable of swallowing other monsters whole, or the fiery and territorial Anjanath, both of which roam the dense and complex eco-system within the Ancient Forest. For those feeling brave, enough they can adventure to the desert land of the Wildspire Waste where the armored Barroth can be found lurking in the muddy waters, waiting to unleash its devastating charge attack.

This is why I am glad to be a PlayStation Plus member and happy to see more developers are issuing more Beta’s for their upcoming games. This time around there will be some crossover DLC that will be exclusive to the PlayStation 4. Horizon Zero Dawn’s young mech hunter Aloy will make her appearance through gear in Monster Hunter World. Players will get the opportunity to utilize Aloy’s full armor set and her signature bow with the addition of Palic armor set that will make them look like a machine from Horizon Zero Dawn. Monster Hunter is known for its unique use of armor sets and costumes from different games so I am not surprised.

I do hope that special armor set that will make players look like Aloy, but also grants them a power boost in some way maybe a better stealth feature would be cool. Now, this can only be obtained once you complete the Horizon Zero Dawn collaboration event quest. This will be available to online players post-launch and special equipment will be available to forge as well. Once done you bring the materials to the Smithy and then you will be able to forge your collaboration equipment. As a veteran player, I know there will be some farming to be had, but that is the fun of Monster Hunter. Details on the exact timing and availability of the Horizon Zero Dawn collaboration quest will be revealed soon.

The latest Monster Hunter: World trailer released at Paris Games Week highlights for the first time the terrifying Rotten Vale area of the New World. Littered with the skeletons of deceased monsters, a land of unique and gigantic creatures awaits amongst this bed of bones. The deeper players journey into the inner layers of the Rotten Vale, the tougher the environment gets with a dangerous and toxic mist blanketing the land obscuring the perils that lurk nearby until the very last minute. The Radobaan, a hulking beast that wears the carcasses scattered around the Vale for armor will need hunters to be quick and fast as they take off chunks of its bone armor and avoid its rolling attacks. Hunters can brave the beast alone or with their team of four hunters. With drop-in multiplayer, each hunter has their own story to tell – but will they live to tell it?

Monster Hunter World is going to be Live on January 26, 2018, but you can pre-order your copy here on play-asia.com.
